An opportunity has arisen for the position of Adult Social Care Assistant (ASCA) within the Independent Living Service.


The ILS Service comprise of an Advice & Referral Centre, Intake Team, 5 locality areas, A review team, Hospital Assessment Team, Mental Health Teams and CTPLD.

All of which are fast paced social work teams undertaking social care assessments and reviews, with a focus on strength based practice.

The ILS service prides itself in providing a supportive, dynamic learning culture where staff will have the opportunity for further training and development in areas of interest.

Applicants would not be expected to hold any formal qualification, however ,would be expected to undertake any relevant training that would enhance and support the role.

It would also be preferable for applicants to have prior experience working with vulnerable adults.


As such we are looking for a team player who is forward thinking, able to influence practice, share learning and build positive relationships with key stakeholders and whose passion is around quality service delivery.

You would be expected to work in line with legislation but training will be provided.


There is emphasis on working with key networks and community partners in order to promote creative care planning, whist maximising independence, protecting the most vulnerable and improving sustainable outcomes for our residents.


These roles are deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role.

This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
