    What we are looking for:

    An experienced MS SQL Server database administrator with a focus on managing existing databases that our platform runs on, ensuring best practices are followed, maximising efficiencies, ensuring correctness and performance of ongoing database design and minimising costs.

    Responsibilities:

    · Monitoring existing databases for errors and inefficiencies

    · Maximising performance of databases

    · Minimising costs

    · Ensuring data integrity

    · Ensuring backup and disaster recovery best practices are implemented

    · Providing advice to the development team on schema design

    · Providing expertise in query / performance tuning and monitoring

    · Providing guidance to the development team on query optimisation

    · Manage and monitor resources in Azure, using appropriate services as appropriate

    · Implements security policies within SQL in terms of access as well as data security

    · Guiding release & migration strategies

    Skillset:

    · Administering MS SQL, in particular, SQL PAAS such as SQL Azure

    · Experience in implementing both relational and document modelling structures in SQL (design and querying)

    · Excellent knowledge of T-SQL

    · Excellent knowledge of SQL optimisation, e.g. indexes, tuning, query analysis etc.

    · Able to work with version control systems, e.g. GIT

    · Scripting languages such as PowerShell
