    Description

    TEXO Recruitment are sourcing for an experienced Mechanical Technician (onshore) to join our external client, a specialist in the supply of bespoke equipment and personnel packages to the global energy sector.

    Based in Aberdeen, the suitable candidate will be required to commute to both our clients sites based in central Aberdeen and Peterhead (travel provided).

    The primary role of the onshore Mechanical Technician, within the Engineering Solutions Business Unit is to assist in the build of new equipment and the repair, maintenance and modifications of existing equipment.

    The role also includes looking after and maintenance of the facility, to the required standard. This involves working with a range of mechanical and hydraulic components used in the build of equipment. The Mechanical Technician must ensure a proactive and continuous approach to safety, technical, industry and company standards as well as client site safety initiatives.

    Requirements:

    • To achieve schedule demands on all operational projects
    • To ensure all client expectations are met and exceeded
    • To ensure all project deadlines are achieved through effective and efficient work
    • To ensure the quality standards of all work are met and thereby to ensure compliance with all required regulatory bodies and standards as well as detailed client requirements
    • To complete the inspection, testing and commissioning of equipment, including FAT and SIT, as appropriate
    • The resolution of faults, problems and concerns that are identified with the equipment and mechanical/hydraulic systems.
    • To provide technical input and support for system design activities within projects
    • To conduct training for apprentices and trainees
    • To complete all required paperwork accurately and timely, including risk assessments
    • To complete all paperwork required including risk assessments, to complete mechanical/hydraulic and maintenance tasks.

    Qualifications:

    • HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering qualification / Modern Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Engineering
    • Able to demonstrate competence in reading and understanding Mechanical Assembly and Hydraulic drawings
    • Great verbal and written communication
    • Computer literate
    • Able to identify and use technical tools and instruments
    • Able to fact find, fault identify, and problem solve
    • UK driving licence

    £18ph - £21ph based on experience
