About the Role Fern House Surgery are looking to recruit a reception manager on a full time basis to further develop the excellent service being offered by the practice to the local community. The post-holder will manage staff and the workload in the reception area. The reception manager provides a vital role within the surgery. They will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the reception area and be responsible for managing a team of receptionists as well as providing support to the practice manager. The role is very demanding and requires the expertise of good communication and organisation skills. The reception manager will need to demonstrate the ability to work alone using their own initiative as well as within the framework of a team. They will be responsible for the efficient management and direction of the reception team, ensuring all administrative duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice. About the Candidate The ideal candidate must be able to work independently whilst demonstrating excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

This is a progressive role and therefore a candidate who can evidence continuous professional development would be highly advantageous. You should possess the following experience, skills and qualities:

Previous experience within the NHS, GP surgery or medical environment is essential.

Experience in the use of SystmOne would be valuable.

Experience with GP rotas, templates and how a surgery works on a daily basis

Self-motivation and forward thinking approach;

Excellent organisational, staff management, planning, IT and communication skills;

Excellent communication skills with a team spirit.

About Us Fern House Surgery is a large GMS dispensing practice with 8 partners and a list size of 16,500.
