An interim opportunity to join a District Council as a Finance Business Partner, leading on the support of a service and working with a committed and growing team of professionals in a sector which is fronting up to ever-evolving challenges to resources.

As the key point of contact for an entire Council service, you'll provide the necessary support, advice and control to departmental budgets, empowering departments to make their budgets go further and offering rigour to their financial controls.

One of threeat a similar level, you'll help develop processes and methods which will help raise the standards of financial management while ensuring that statutory functions are executed smoothly and consistently.

Aspects of the role will include:

Regular meetings with budget holders to offer advice and feedback on financial management as well as how to spend effectively and where possible, increase income opportunities
Conduct risk appraisals on key spending decisions and support departmental leaders as they choose how best to deploy their resources
Provide analysis and modelling on revenue, capital and spending, helping to interpret complex financial information and present it easily and clearly to nonfinance staff.

As well as the obvious finance and analytical skills required, the role has a strong communication and customer services element and will suit someone who enjoys engaging with business operations and recognizes their role in the wider execution of the Council'score priorities and obligations.
