    Main duties of the job

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Enuresis lead nurse wishing to expand their skills and knowledge working with children and young people requiring enuresis support and advice. The successful candidate will have the ability to work autonomously and has a passion for providing high quality care that supports and empowers Children and Young People to manage their own enuresis care where possible within the home.

    Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner providing high quality specialist nursing care within the school nurse service. You will support children and families with their enuresis needs

    The post holder will be responsible for facilitating effective enuresis support to enable the young person to be dry at night. You will also identify when additional support may be required for example the use of an alarm

    The post holder will provide clinical supervision to other staff, students and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialist area. The successful candidate will be responsible for training and education of other nurses and will be expected to be innovative and flexible.

    The post holder will work collaboratively across the School Nursing Service ensuring the safety and well-being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.

    Essential criteria

  • RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality.
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD
  • BSC/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience
  • Mentorship course
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Experience of teaching/assessing/supervising others in a clinical setting
  • Experienced and competent in the management of patients within the speciality
  • Skills/Knowledge/Ability

  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients/clients and give relevant advice/information to patients and relatives.
  • Able to work alone
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Time management and organisation skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information. Dealing with distressed relatives, care of terminally ill & other challenging situations
  • Evidence of involvement and and leadership in mentoring students
