    The Academy have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational leader who has extension experience in teaching Maths at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. The successful candidate will not only be able to deliver exciting and effective learning in the classroom but will also liaise with the Maths department and other Faculty Leaders to develop the Academy's overall academic strategy.

    We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Faculty Leader of Maths who has a passion for Maths and developing teaching and learning. Teaching Mathematics at The UCL Academy, we aspire to have a curriculum which is both inspiring and engaging including creative ideas, lively activities and enriching activities. We have a mathematics team that is second to none; supportive, proactive and dedicated to ensuring that every child at The UCL Academy is able to flourish and grow.

    We offer training and development opportunities and elements of the role will include:

  • Being responsible for developing the curriculum and ensuring curriculum targets are set and met;
  • Monitoring data, progress and attainment for all students within Maths;
  • Managing all aspects of the faculty, including line management, professional development and maintaining the ethos of teamwork and collaboration that the faculty has at its heart.
  • Undertake the duties of a form tutor; The Maths department are closely involved with Pixl and the FMSP and attend conferences regularly. They aim to teach our students to be confident, questioning and independent mathematicians; to be able to make connections between maths in their other subjects and maths in context in the world outside. We have a thriving sixth form, which includes a large Further Maths class as well as step tuition. We are proud of the excellent A level and GCSE results that we achieved last year, and are proud of the friendly, and work focused relationship that the maths staff engender with the students.
