    OLG Recruitment: Structural Engineer

    OLG Recruitment is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for our client based in Immingham. Our client, a leading UK Engineering Consultancy with over 40 years of experience, serves blue chip clients in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, nuclear, speciality chemicals, and steel sectors. The client's headquarters is in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, with satellite offices in Daresbury, Colden Common, and Grimsby.

    Overview

    The role involves client-facing skills, site visits during design and construction, excellent design capabilities, and a strong focus on safety and quality assurance in the engineering process. The ability to switch between conceptual design and detailed design based on project requirements is essential.

    A background in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Nuclear, or other industrial sectors is preferred. However, individuals with a solid background in structural steelwork, foundation design, and mechanical equipment interface from traditional consultancy backgrounds will excel in this environment.

    Standards and Codes of Practice

    Thorough knowledge of Eurocodes for steel and concrete design is required. Working knowledge of BS5950 & BS8110 for historic structures is essential.

    Experience

    A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate structural design experience is necessary, including a track record of delivering complex projects. Proficiency in design software such as StaadPro, Tekla Structural Designer, and Tekla Tedds, along with 3D modeling environments, is expected.

    The ability to offer optimal solutions to complex engineering challenges in a multidisciplinary setting is crucial. Strong teamwork skills, including remote collaboration using digital platforms, are also required.

    Requirements


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a master's degree is advantageous)

    • Chartered or working towards CEng with IStructE or ICE

    • Full driving licence

    • Ability to work in the UK

    • Effective communication skills
