- Undertake detailed building services (including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, sustainability) design and calculations (using both software and knowledge to verify robust calculations).
- Ensure service and project work are carried out to an excellent standard - within agreed deadlines and within budget.
- Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
- Plan and manage input to Building Information Modelling software for production of design work
- Use Building Information Modelling software to design engineering services on projects through learning from colleagues and in house training
- Represent the company as part of a team by attending design team meetings or meetings with clients and architects
- A keen interest in the built environment and a desire to develop Building Information Modelling skills to express your designs
- Confident, enthusiastic, proactive and 'can do' attitude

- Tariff points:
- GCSE: GCSE: Grade C/ or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent (we accept Functional Skills Level in English and Maths).
- A-level subjects: Grade C or above in Mathematics plus a pass in one of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Computing/Computer Science; Design and Technology; Electronics; Engineering; ICT; Further Mathematics; Music Technology; Physics; Statistics. Mathematics requirement can also be met by the Cambridge Pre-U Mathematics at Merit . Points from A-level General Studies and AS-level subjects (not taken onto full A-level) can be included towards overall tariff. You must have a minimum of two A-levels.
- EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: One of the following BTEC Diplomas: Aeronautical Engineering; Applied Science; Construction and the Built Environment; Electrical/Electronic Engineering; Engineering; Land-based Technology; Manufacturing Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; or Operations and Maintenance Engineering. Must include Merit in one of the following units: Further Engineering Mathematics or Further Mathematics for Construction. Please list the units that you are taking in your application.

We are recruiting for a Building Services Design Engineer Degree Apprentice to join our friendly and innovative Bath MEP team, who are involved in a wide variety of challenging and exciting projects.

Bristol UWE University will provide an excellent programme of study on a day-release format, meaning you will spend one day per week in class for weeks per academic year. A typical taught week will include eight hours of contact with academics, and an additional hours of study. The Building Services Design Engineer Degree Apprenticeship not only meets all the core requirements of the accrediting body, but also delivers leading-edge teaching in areas such as energy simulations, sustainability, performance analysis and assessment of the impact of user behaviour on system design.
