Hours for work: 09.00am till 5.00pm

Salary:
£30,000

Are you a Health and Safety officer who has experience working in the food manufacturing industry?

We are working in partnership with a well-established food manufacturer which produces ingredient products to the highest standards.

Based in a well maintained, BRC accredited facility, the business works with some of the biggest names in the prepared foods manufacturing sector and wholesalers.

We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to drive the health and safety agenda and ensure the compliance of the site and its employee's.

Purpose

Reporting into the Group Health and Safety Manager, this role will be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety at their Glasgow Site.

Key duties will include:

Advising the management on safety issues as well as employing the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
Monitoring and controlling safety and compliance on site as per regulations and company policies.
Conducting safety inspections and internal audits and reporting to management with suggestions.
Ensure preventive measures, administrative control and personal protective equipment are implemented and used.
Investigate and report accidents and near misses.
Record keeping of all safety events, including near misses, training, and drills.
Experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
Demonstrable experience in the Food/manufacturing/FMCG industry.
Exceptional understanding of Health and Safety legal requirements and best practice.
A collaborator who is also able to lead by example.
Strong Communicator.
Astute individual with the ability to challenge where needed to ensure best practice.
