A Vacancy has arisen for a Transport and Operations Supervisor to join our team at Killingholme.

The Transport and Operations Supervisor role exists to manage the efficient running of the transport office with others to ensure good communications with both the clients and drivers.

The role will assist the site management in ensuring compliance is met with vehicle scheduling, drivers' hours and record keeping by covering the transport desk for both the tipper and general haulage fleet.

The role also includes the support and cover of operations supervisors for the warehousing and other material handling activities on the contracts.

_ The role briefly encompasses the following: -_

Ensuring efficient client service is maintained.
Organise own fleet and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
Look at ways to continually improve service.
Identify and develop new opportunities.
Provide Supervision in all areas of the contracts.
Attend Regular meetings with the client.
Lead and coordinate team activities to meet agreed quality standards ensuring compliance with company requirements and quality improvement measures.
Maintain quality of stocks and premises we operate.
Promote and Drive safety standards and maintain high level of compliance.
Ability to use computerised vehicle planning schedules.
Ideally possess a IOSH Managing Safety Certificate.
Have experience of working in a warehousing and transport office environment although not essential as full training will be given.
Strong operational background with understanding of materials handling and statutory requirements.
Supervisory skills.
Positive attitude to safety.
Reactive and proactive in service / operations to ensure no disruption.
Good problem solver

A strong team player who leads by example.
Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
Able to work within a small established team.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Good knowledge of the Road Transport Industry and UK road network
