Simulation Education Fellow - permanent or fixed term for 12 months from August 2024

4 days/32 hours per week

Trent Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre is a centre of excellence for multiprofessional learning and education and a regional centre for advanced clinical simulation-based education.

Our activities include teaching programmes related to patient safety, Human Factors and team training.


Working alongside our expert simulation team, you will develop personal skills around developing and delivering simulation based teaching, and debriefing skills.


You will be responsible for organising teaching programmes and evaluation, working with medical and multiprofessional colleagues to ensure programmes meet learner needs.


You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and practice in research methodology and make presentations to regional meetings.


  • You will work with Centre Director and multiprofessional Simulation Education team to develop and deliver high quality multiprofessional simulation and skills based education to doctors in training, medical students, nurses and allied health professionals.
  • Actively contribute to the design, development, piloting and evaluation of course programmes including technology enhanced learning. This will include taking a lead role in quality assurance of key advanced simulation programmes, ensuring courses respond to changing learner needs and curricula/commissioner requirements.
  • Contribute to the organisation of regular departmental research and "journal club' meetings for simulation teaching and patient safety/human factors
  • You will have the opportunity to undertake a postgraduate certificate in medical education ( start autumn 2024) of which 50% funding is available, up to a maximum of £2000.


We are a multidisciplinary team including nurses, ODPs, AHPs, multimedia simulation technicians, Human Factors experts and an admin and operations team.
