Are you passionate about providing excellent service and support within a caring environment? West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our Adult Social Care Service, reporting to the Resource Centre Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our community and make a real difference in people's lives.


As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our resource centre, where we provide a range of services to support adults with care needs.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals, adhering to dietary requirements and food safety regulations
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Supporting the Resource Centre Manager in monitoring and ordering supplies
  • Engaging with service users in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Previous experience in a similar kitchen or catering environment
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
