    Live Nation is committed to delivering first class concert and event experiences for fans, artists and tournament organising bodies.

    The Head of Event Operations, Major Events will have the responsibility for operational planning and delivery of entertainment shows during major global events. They will manage the relationship between Live Nation and the organising bodies as well as lead and manage the Events Team and the systems and approaches in planning and delivering events.

    At the forefront of the role will be the leadership and guidance of the Project Managers and their teams, ensuring the successful completion of events with a key focus on safety, financial efficiency and scrutiny of specifications and costs.

    The role requires developing areas of the business with particular attention on the company Safety, Environmental, Social and Governance policies and procedures, ensuring an excellent fan and artist experience.

    Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Demonstrable experience managing outdoor events, small, medium, and large as a Project and Event Manager (tactical lead preferred or the ability to assume ultimate responsibility for all show day aspects of, safe and successful event delivery, including contingency and major incident response) (delivery of multiple projects at same time essential)
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practise, and technical and financial defining performance within concert and event operations
  • Strong project management skills and expertise in scoping and delivering concerts and events, successfully and on time and on budget.
  • Strong understanding of TV and broadcast production.
  • Expertise in managing successful supplier and stakeholder relationships, contract negotiations, agreements, and procurement with existing strong relationships to capitalise.
  • Good expertise in planning and operational, production, technical, safety and crowd management knowledge (crowd management level 5 certification essential)
  • Demonstrable understanding of legal compliance and regulations for event operations with a proven ability to identify risks and define and implement mitigation measures (Nebosh preferential, IOSH managing safely essential)
  • Site Management planning and operational experience is essential to ensure appropriate guidance of event team when assessing site related equipment and services.
  • Demonstrable business and financial acumen with a strong understanding of budgetary planning, forecast and control.
  • Strong leadership with highly effective communications skills and proven ability to define and deliver the operational standards and requirements for event operations.
  • Highly organised, with strong analytical thinking and ability to evaluate data.
  • Demonstrable problem -solving, decision making and judgement for improving processes, increasing efficiency and profits.
  • Good working knowledge of licensing requirements for concerts and events

  • What the role includes

  • Successful management and timely operational delivery of all outdoor events
  • For outdoor events, ensure appropriate, event management and contingency plans are created and reviewed within the planning and delivery phases.
  • Purposefully lead, coach and mentor the events team while fostering a culture of "fan first" "continuous improvement" and "operational excellence" to enable growth.
  • Define event plans, processes, tools, and resources; harmonising processes to produce efficiencies across the team and all events.
  • Manage processes and procedures to identify, manage and mitigate risks and threats at events. Implement and manage a risk register, resolving or escalating concerns as required within a time critical manner.
  • For all events, create a process that manages budgets and deliver costs savings by ensuring project managers provide accurate and effective, timely, investigation, analysis, management and negotiation of specifications.
  • Create and manage processes that delivers accurate and timely financial reporting for events. Resolve or escalate financial concerns as required.
  • Create policies and procedures that ensure legal compliance with regulations along with ensuring company policies and values are embedded into events plans and operational delivery with appropriate recording, auditing, and training of all staff.
  • Create a culture of excellent stakeholder relationship management and implement effective procurement procedures for engagement of suppliers according to company policy, to maximise safety, fan experience, operational delivery, and financial efficiency.
  • Project Manage outdoor events as required.
  • Act as an on-site, show day, Event Manager (Tactical Lead - Silver Manager) for Live Nation as required.
  • Oversee event debriefs, ensuring all required actions are implemented, recommendations for improvement are costed and reported for budget.
  • Assist with financial analysis, investigation and negotiations as required.
