We are currently recruiting an
Environmental, Health & Safety Officer to join our Environmental, Health and Safety Department.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about environmental, health and safety matters and looking to grow professionally in this field.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the
Group Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and will be based in our
Birmingham Office with weekly visits to our London office.


Key Responsibilities
The key accountabilities and associated duties include

  • Assist in monitoring EHS performance throughout the organization through:
  • Site inspections
  • Audits of compliance with company EHS policies and procedures
  • Monthly EHS compliance reporting
  • Provide EHS support to operational departments within the organization, for example:
  • Preparation and review of Method Statements / Risk Assessments / H&S plans
  • Assist in the planning, controlling, or managing the safe free flow of traffic through road works (surveying)
  • Support the role of Principal Contractor (to Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015), when the organization has been engaged in this role.
  • Be flexible to travel, when required

Other duties:


  • Assist in provision of EHS training to company personnel
  • Support the organization in meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 197
  • Support the organization in the review of current and new EHS legislation / regulations, and compliance with same.
  • Support the organization in the review, audit, and improvement of company EHS documentation.
  • Support the organization in maintenance of the EHS management systems to ISO standards i.e., Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015), Environmental Management System (ISO14001:2015), and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (45001:2018).
  • Attend, participate and chair EHS meetings, as required
  • Support the organization in the collection of information relating to accidents / incidents and assist in any follow up investigations.

Requirements:


  • Diploma in Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages required
  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations
  • Experience working in construction an advantage
  • Experience working with a Principal Contractor or coordinating that role an advantage
  • Experience working in traffic management an advantage.
  • Hold a full valid driving license without endorsements
