This is an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor looking for the next stage of their career who is keen to make an impact in a stand-alone role.

You will be at the forefront of the organisation, making sure the people function runs like clockwork and ensuring great employee experience is provided.

This role will offer you the opportunity to make your mark within the organisation as we seek to modernise our people function.

Our HR Advisor will have the opportunity to develop and maintain an inclusive approach to HR in a truly inspirational, well-established charity in the heart of Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver a highquality HR support service across the organisation.
  • To create and embed administration processes at all stages of the employee lifecycle.
  • To develop and embed a volunteer recruitment and retention strategy.
  • To be the first point of contact for all HR matters, providing helpful advice in line with best practice
  • To review and publish HR policies that are inclusive, accurate and reflect current legislation
  • To maintain digital and electronic records of employees and volunteers.
  • Take a keen interest in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures which is an integral part of the HR advisory responsibilities.
  • Be CIPD Qualified level 3 or above (or currently studying)
  • Have previous experience working in an HR / People role or function
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Ideally have experience/knowledge of the charity sector or a keen interest in the sector
  • Be a confident communicator with the ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and confidentiality
  • Be excited by the opportunity to implement change and make your mark on the role
