    London, Exeter, Corsham, Southampton,Cardiff - with an expectation that occasional site work and office work in other Ramboll UK offices will be required.

    We invite you to bring your marine biology skills and experience into play as a member of our Ecosystem Solutions team. You will be key team player in the team, part of a team of biologists/ecologists working on a range of projects spanning several sectors. To succeed in this role you must have an appropriate marine biology post-graduate qualification and be a Member of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management at the appropriate grade. Desirable skills and experience for this role include coastal and offshore bird ecology and/or and assessing underwater noise impacts on mammals.

    You will join our Ecosystem Solutions department

    As our new Senior Marine Biologist you will be part of a specialist team including ecologists, nature based solutions specialists and ecotoxicologists delivering work in support of sustainable development, including biodiversity net gain, natural capital accounting and ecosystem services. We are a growing, ambitious and diverse team with a unique integrated approach; the team is dynamic and friendly, delivering work for a range of clients

    Our team is small enough that you will get to know everyone and feel you have a significant role to play, big enough that there are people to bounce ideas off and with a range of different specialists and we are doing some interesting work on nature positive/corporate BNG work/renewables. There is an interesting variety of work and opportunity to work with and get to know colleagues in a variety of other environmental disciplines.

    Project work will be varied, covering a broad range of projects including:

    • Offshore wind ecological mitigation and enhancements
    • Impacts and dependencies on the marine environment
    • Nature-based solutions

    Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

    • Planning and undertaking marine biology assessments and producing high quality reports
    • Liaising with regulators
    • Managing small to medium scale projects with input on large scale projects with the support of the marine biology lead
    • Main point of contact with Ramboll project managers, clients, partner organisations and sub-consultants
    • Delivering technical work on complex projects
    • Fee proposal preparation and assisting with client relationship management
    • Supervision and management of more junior staff and input to resource planning.
    • Carrying out such additional duties as may reasonably be required in this role

    Your key deliverables over the first 24 months for this role will be:

    • Successful contribution to delivery of marine projects
    • Specialist advice to and successful collaboration with project managers and other Ramboll teams such as impact assessment and marine engineers
    • Client contact and prominent member of the Marine Biology team
    • Contribution to the fields of biodiversity, natural capital, climate and sustainability

    • Significant consulting experience on marine biology projects
    • Appropriate BSc or equivalent qualification with a post-graduate qualification in Marine Biology or comparable subject.
    • Desirable skills and experience for this role include coastal and offshore bird ecology and/or and assessing underwater noise impacts on mammals.
    • Capable of producing clear and concise deliverables to a high technical standard
    • Highly organised and able to work efficiently and effectively to deadlines
    • Good knowledge of relevant environmental/marine legislation
    • An understanding of the UK marine planning system in relation to development and the integration of marine biology
    • Proficient user of MS Office software and ideally ArcGIS
    • Full clean UK driving licence
