    Description
    HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER (SOUTH EAST)Develop, promote, and maintain a robust positive and proactive H+S culture throughout the South East sites, this being achieved through continued staff engagement, presence on site, offering help, advice, support, and training.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead and develop H+S representatives on SE sites.
    • Responsible for the provision of HSE support, help and advice to SE sites, ensuring consistency with other UK sites.
    • Undertake a programme of inspections and audits in accordance with the company management systems
    • Maintain the company's health and safety performance measurement and reporting system, analysing results to help identify improvement opportunities.
    • Be familiar with current health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to the Group of Companies and advise senior management accordingly.
    • Periodic reviews of all activities in line with existing Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work, amending and creating new ones where appropriate.
    • Where required, assist with the delivery of internal training and support with the implementation of training plans.
    • Work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders to promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
    • Ensure that all injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences are reported in line with statutory requirements.
    • Develop and maintain close working relationship with the Health and Safety Managers of the company to allow the sharing of new initiatives.

    Person Specification
    • NEBOSH National General Certificate Qualification in Occupational H&S.
    • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills to explain health and safety processes to a wide range of people and to give presentations to groups.
    • Experience in warehousing, transport or logistics preferred but not essential.
    • Patience and diplomacy because the profession requires a collaborative approach.
    • Be a 'team player' who can communicate and engage with all levels of staff
    • Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.
    • IT skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • A flexible approach to work.
    • An interest in H&S legislation and the ability to understand regulations.
    • Full Driving License
