    Job Introduction

    We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced, seasoned Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team based in Leeds

    As we develop as an organisation, our need for understanding our data becomes ever more important. Data drives business decisions and our global strategy and this is a brilliant opportunity to join a forward-thinking and supportive team.

    Working alongside our Head of Data, you will help develop and construct our data products, analyse raw data and play a key role in transforming our data to drive MPS forward, as we continue to develop our cloud (Azure) infrastructure.

    As our Data Engineer, you will utilise your self-starter, analytical and problem-solving skills to manage a diverse backlog, develop new initiatives and ultimately influence member growth.

    You will be the link between data preparation and data analysis, liaising closely with key stakeholders to understand business needs and contributing to the delivery of our Data and Analytics strategy.

    Role Responsibility

    As our new Data Engineer, you will also:

  • Building accessible data and patterns to support the wider organisations and promote self-serve
  • Playing a pivotal role in the delivery and governance of reporting, analytics and the quality of data
  • Driving business decisions and performance by allowing MPS to better understand its data
  • Developing data services that are fit for purpose, resilient and future proof
  • The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for:

  • A keen, analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Experience in dimensional modelling (Kimball methodology)
  • Experience with PowerBi Services – Semantic models
  • Strong data management experience and the ability to construct complex queries using T-SQL
  • Hands on experience of Microsoft Azure including (but not limited to) Azure Data Factory (ADF) and/or Synapse, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Lake etc
  • Experience of using Azure Dev Ops: Boards, Repos & Pipelines (classic and/or YAML)
