What's the opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Supplier Quality, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers working with Exterior commodities and responsible for ensuring the quality of parts delivered consistently meet specification through the use of AIAG standard tools and methods and in compliance with IATF16949.

Engage senior cross functional colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers to define and develop processes, refine methods and resolve conflicts and blockages to ensure departmental objectives are achieved. Develop your team in the pursuit of excellence. Assess and improve process compliance and effectiveness, measure and improve team performance, develop team competence and capability

What you will do:

• Work with Engineering development Partner and Purchasing to develop and deploy Sourcing strategies
• Work with Engineering and purchase partners to select and nominate capable suppliers
• Work with Engineering development partner and suppliers to refine product design (DFM) and define feasible manufacturing processes
• Work with Engineering development partner and suppliers to support APQP activities ensuring robust and on time completion of tasks
• Work with Engineering development partner and suppliers to complete PPAP according to commodity timing plan
• Ensure robust hand over of PPAP parts to Contract manufacturer and support for 90 days post SOP/Job1
• Manage suppliers in series phase, ensuring they remain capable to produce according to PPAP and resolve any concerns raised by Contract manufacturer robustly
• Support departmental objectives relating to the establishing of a new team, processes and performance management tools
• Develop objectives relating to the team's core responsibilities. Monitor and manage to ensure achievement there of objectives

Who you are:

• Previous experience within a Supplier Quality function required / management preferred
• Min. 10 Years experience in a complex manufacturing environment essential and OEM Automotive preferred
• Must be highly experienced in IATF16949 requirements and AIAG standard methods
• Degree qualified in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline highly desired
• Previous experience of Exterior commodities within the remit of the role is desired but not essential
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence at Board level
• Willing to undertake significant amount of business travel
• Experienced using, training and coaching standard practical problem solving tools
• Previous experience launching multiple vehicles into production preferred
