    We have seven exciting opportunities for talented, influential and politically aware leaders to join us in senior Deputy Director positions within our Environment & Business Directorate. Covering a wide remit, including a diverse set of regulatory powers means this is a great place to work if you want to make a real difference to the climate crisis and build a more sustainable future.

    We are looking for leaders who can design and ensure delivery of core functions and services to the directorate and across the Environment Agency. You'll need to work flexibly and seek opportunities to deliver cross-cutting priorities. As part of new leadership teams, you will be a key contributor to setting our direction.

    The team:

    You will report to the Executive Director of Environment & Business, and form part of a welcoming and committed team of senior leaders. You will be a member of our broader community of executive managers.

    Experience/skills required:

    We are looking for candidates who:

  • Develop strategies and delivery plans, with the ability to make decisions by assessing a wide range of information and advice.
  • Have proven ability to translate strategy into action and ensure that vision is grounded in an organisational context.
  • Have proven experience of working under pressure and at pace, and re-prioritising resources.
  • Able to present strategic positions, guiding our senior leaders and to senior stakeholders in a confident and in an articulate manner.
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with partners, stakeholders and customers to strengthen engagement and build partnerships.
  • Are a visible leader and role model with progressive attitudes and behaviours, resilience, a collaborative "can-do" attitude, and commitment to creating an inclusive culture.
