Senior Costs Draftsman

The position will involve working within the firms Technical Costs Team dealing predominantly with drafting bills of costs, drafting Points of Dispute, drafting Replies to Points of Dispute, negotiation of own costs case load and dealing with any Solicitorown client costs.
Responsibilities:
Drafting of bills of costs
- Dealing with / assisting costs operations manager with any Solicitor own client costs files
- Dealing with Part 8 matters
- Preparing Points of Dispute/Replies
- Negotiating costs generally with own case load
- Handling caseload cradle to grave
- Preparing N260 costs schedules
- Provide costs advice/guidance to fee earners as and when required
Experience:
- Min of 3 years' experience as a Costs Draftsperson/Costs Lawyer
- Experience in dealing with Solicitor own client costs
- Knowledge of Case Management Systems but training will be given
- Good knowledge of IT working with Word and Excel
- Excellent knowledge of CPR and Case law
- Proven track record of preparing electronic bills
- Ability to deal with third party solicitors and insurers on a daytoday basis
- Able to maintain the highest client care standards
- Experience with working within a team environment
- Ability to prioritise workloads

- Good commercial awareness and ability to work to targets
- Working knowledge of the claims process
- Good time keeping
- Ability to liaise and report to Senior Managers
Salary:
£30 - 35,000
Hours of work:
Monday-Thursday 9am - 5.30pmFriday 9am - 5pm
