Based in Manchester we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Team Leader on a permanent basis to join our friendly quality team.
The Team Leader is a productive operative who is responsible for coordinating team colleagues and ensuring their effective and efficient utilisation in the manufacture & installation of equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist your Supervisor in managing the team and specifically the projects allocated to you.
- Lead and assist in planning and directing manufacturing activities under your control, and working within budgeted hours and the delivery date.
- Provide leadership, motivation and support to your team members to enable work targets to be successfully achieved.
- Attend production progress reviews and provide the necessary information relating to job performance and targets.
- Achieve the specified level of detail, functionality and build quality for the equipment being manufactured.
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing activities in liaison Supervision, production planning and Project Management.
- Interpret drawings & Bills of Material to provide clear instructions to your team.
Key Requirements
- Completion of a recognised technical/engineering apprenticeship or experience to equivalent depth.
- Time served mechanical fitter with a solid mechanical engineering background.
- Working with various materials including metals, timber and plastics, GRP Composites.
- An ability to develop team members with coaching and/or mentoring.
- Ability to prioritise work load and use your initiative to organise your teams priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customerfocused with a commitment to delivering an excellent service.
- Effective planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping at all times and set the example for your team.
- Ability to effectively problem solve.
- Ability to achieve UK security clearance is essential
