Wewant you to join our team in our chemotherapy unit which is based atKidderminster hospital. Millbrook Suiteconsist of an outpatient consulting suites together with a day care unit. The unit cares for patients with a range ofcancers who are receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies plus management ofother haematological disorders.
Thesuccessful candidate would ideally have experience of working in the NHS or ahealthcare setting, although this is not essential. Applicants must have excellent communicationsskills, be able to manage under pressure and have good customer care qualities.Computer literacy is essential, although training will be provided for the ITsystems that are used within the department.

Asa part of the countywide service delivering anti-cancer treatments, you may berequired to travel between sites on occasions.
Main duties of the job
Welcomingpatients onto the unit in a professional manner.
Clarifyingpatients details on arrival
Ensuringthe smooth flow of administrative work.
Accuratelyentering data into the patient management systems and updating information asrequired.
Adheringto the requirements of the Data Protection Act, ensuring confidentiality ofinformation regarding staff and patients is maintained at all times.
Dealingwith telephone and direct enquiries in a prompt and effective manner, ensuringthe provision of information and prioritisation of queries as appropriate.
Facilitatingpatient scheduling, optimal use of nursing capacity
Maintaininga clean and safe working environment
Remainingup to date with mandatory training and completing any additional coursesrequired for this role.
Understandingall responsibilities and adhering to all statutory requirements for Health andSafety, COSHH, PPE, fire safety, complaints and accident reporting.

Towelcome patients/relatives onto the department, check the patients in on thedatabase for their appointments, using the computer software.
Tobe responsible for the distribution of departmental post
Toadvise patients/carers of any delays in clinic or treatment times.
Toliaise with ambulance control for patient return journeys.
Tobook follow up appointments.
Todeal with telephone enquiries, both from staff and patients.
Ensurethe reception area is clean and tidy throughout the day.
