    Do you have a passion for fetal monitoring and supporting your colleagues to provide safe and evidence based care? Would you like to develop your own skills in teaching, assessing, leadership and quality improvement? An opportunity has arisen for a passionate, engaging and motivated midwife to work within the fetal monitoring team and wider MDT as a fetal monitoring midwife.

    You will be working as part of a team across both our sites but based at West Middlesex in the provision of fetal monitoring support.

    To support staff in providing a safe, robust and consistent approach to fetal monitoring including both continuous and intermittent fetal monitoring
    Ensure staff are assessing fetal well-being in the context of the woman`s health, pregnancy, gestational age, stage of labour, intrapartum risk factors
    To participate in teaching on multi-disciplinary training days and facilitate learning opportunities following interesting case reviews
    To undertake audits to ensure compliance with fetal monitoring guidelines.

    The post holder will be involved in the development and implementation of the physiological CTG interpretation guidelines, as the Trust moves from NICE based approach to physiological CTG interpretation.

    To lead by example and empower staff in their personal and professional development in order to maintain safety in fetal monitoring within the Trust.

    To work daily on the labour ward alongside clinical staff educating all levels of midwifery and obstetric staff about physiological CTG interpretation.

    To work effectively alongside the Labour Ward Coordinators to support staff and women.
    The post holder will ensure that care provided is within the philosophy of our Maternity Service.
    Evidence of continuing professional development
    Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Qualification.

    Communicating effectively with women, staff and other agencies
    Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
