Our service is clinically led and designed to achieve the benefits of scale that can be achieved by the hospitals working together, while remaining close enough to our customers to meet their needs and support the excellent clinical care provided by our hospitals.

We are looking for healthcare professionals who understand the changing services of pathology and represent the service going forward.

The role involves weekday and weekend working. All phlebotomy staff are required to participate in the cover of bank holidays on a rota basis. Flexible working to cover short notice absence will be a huge advantage.

Working pattern for this post will be as follows:


  • Week 1Mon , Tues , Weds , Thurs OFF, Fri , Sat , Sun


  • Week 2

  • Mon , Tues OFF, Weds , Thurs , Fri , Sat OFF, Sun OFF
  • Work in the hospital ward environment with patients who may be severely debilitated
  • Adhere strictly to established protocols and trust policies
  • Have excellent work attendance and good timekeeping
  • Provide a caring and professional service for users
  • Collect blood samples directly from patients by venepuncture
  • Accurate identification of patient and labelling of samples
  • Maintain records in relation to activities carried
  • Communication with all patients of varying needs
