The Role:


As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized support to students with SEN, helping them overcome learning barriers and succeed academically and personally.

Collaborating closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals, you will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Your dedication, empathy, and ability to build strong relationships with students will be key to their growth and success.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone and group support to students with SEN, tailoring your approach to meet their specific needs.
  • Assist students in developing their academic, social, and life skills.
  • Implement strategies and interventions outlined in individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials and differentiate instruction.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and participation.
  • Monitor student progress, document achievements, and provide regular feedback to parents and the school team.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably as a support worker or teaching assistant.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies, interventions, and differentiation techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt your approach to meet individual student needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
