    Description

    Deputy Managers Duties are:
    To support the manager in ensuring the home meets the standards and expectations of the statement of purpose.

    To safeguard and promote the welfare of the young people and ensure the quality of care is consistent with the Childrens Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards.

    To ensure the homes policies and procedures are adhered to and resources are managed effectively.
    To act as an appropriate role model and to support young people to achieve their optimum potential.
    To support, supervise and inspire colleagues to enable them to fulfil their job descriptions.

    To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints in the managers absence or as directed.

    To liaise with local authorities, school, health and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
    The roles main areas of focus: Managing the home and colleagues.

    Ensuring our clients values are celebrated in the home by supervising individual team performance, including managing colleagues attendance to training and monitoring/implementing risk assessments for health and safety processes.

    Financial Management.

    Assistance in the management of budgets and cash in accordance to procedures, review the homes budget and financial performance, including monitoring cases of overspending, ensuring resources being adequate in the home and ensuring colleagues understand the financial systems.

    Managing the Environment.

    Maintaining a safe and homely setting for young people whilst being compliant with the Childrens Homes Regulations and quality Standards, this includes Health and Safety and any other legal requirements.

    Quality Assurance.

    Supporting the manager with completion of Reg 45 on a monthly basis, Reg 44 visits, monthly individual and managers audits and supporting Ofsted inspections.

    Professional Care Practice.

    Being responsible for safeguarding and promoting wellbeing of the children and young people, including being alert to signs of distress or abuse and ensuring the young people and children's needs are being met.

    Leading and Inspiring a team.

    Leading team meetings, giving and receiving feedback, leading attending and contributing to regular supervisions and being a role model, familiar with all policies and procedures.
