Job summary:


The Defence School of Intelligence (DSI) is key to enabling Defence Intelligence (DI) to deliver its operational capability, running over 40 courses that focus on delivering initial and specialist intelligence training to quad-service personnel.

The school mission is 'to train capable Intelligence professionals, at the required standard, in a safe and sustainable manner in order to support Defence effort.' The Head of Curriculum Quality (Hd CQ) is responsible for assuring training activity, leading quality management and maintaining regulatory compliance (in line with JSP 822).


Please note:
Under Defence Intelligence Training Group (DITG) re-structuring this position may be re-established in DITG HQ. Role will remain extant; however, remit may expand to ensure Curriculum quality oversight of all DITG courses.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week


Job description:

The
DSI
Head of Curriculum Quality is responsible to the CO DSI for maintaining policy and regulatory compliance:

Governance:
Ensure all DSI requirements are reflected in policies, processes and plans, and that these meet/exceed customer requirements.


Leadership:

Utilise leadership behaviours and DI culture to maximise influence to develop a culture of evaluation and improvement, delivered by Quality across the DSI.


Assurance:
Lead DSI Training Assurance activity.

The lead for the DSI Quality process; embed a culture of assurance to ensure that training policies, processes and plans are effectively implemented, and that all outputs (both internal and deliverable) are consistent with requirements.


Supply Chain:
Maintain and develop links with external academic, industrial, professional and Defence training institutions.


Quality Control:
Conduct first party audit of all DSI training activity in line with JSP 822.

The HQ DSI Defence Trainer Manager (DTM), responsible for advising CO DSI on the implementation of Defence training and education policies.

To act as the functional manager of the Defence Trainer Supervisors and to oversee any trainer specific Continuous Professional Development.

Deliver document control for all DSI training documentation up to the point of Assessment.


Person specification:


Should be an experienced manager, ideally with a management background in Post Compulsory Education, the commercial training sector, or a military training establishment.

Offering a broad portfolio of experience in quality management, quality assurance and HR; specialising in assurance, education, and training, with qualifications to suit.

The individual should be committed and able to contribute to the DI vision and mission including the principles of transparency and equal opportunities.


Qualifications
The majority of the following qualifications are
DESIRABLE and can be completed once in role:
DTM (DSAT Managers Cse)

DSAT InVal

DSAT Course Design

Lead Auditor

Defence Trainer - or Civ equivalent (
ESSENTIAL)

Certificate in Education and Training - or Civ equivalent

ISO 9001:2015 Status Lead Auditor

Assessor/Verifier qualifications

Quality Assurance Practitioner Training (QAPT)
