    Governance Officer

    Location: Flexible hybrid working options between home and Prima offices (Columbus Quay or Twickenham Drive)

    Salary: £33,986 per year

    Governance Officer Main Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate effective communication between the leadership team and Board members, ensuring key messages are relayed to employees and members as needed.
    • Provide guidance and assistance to colleagues in preparing reports and briefings for the Board.
    • Responsible for supporting and managing Board and Committee meetings, including secretarial duties, minute-taking, and coordination, to ensure smooth operations.
    • Contribute to the comprehensive Governance Report and additional reports necessary for all Boards and Committees.
    • Offer daily governance services, establish processes, advise on requirements, and review and improve current and future processes.
    • Compile evidence for assessments and regulatory compliance, collaborating closely with the leadership team.
    • Lead the Boards and Committee appraisal process, implement training plans, and contribute to succession planning.
    • Conduct effectiveness reviews for Boards and committees, collecting feedback for evaluation.
    • Handle all administrative tasks for members, including recruitment, induction, claims, subscriptions, and events.
    • Manage the policy framework to ensure timely updates and approvals of corporate policies.
    • Oversee submissions for governance standards and assessments.
    • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely.

    Governance Officer Requirements:

    • Preferred experience or education to A' Level standard or equivalent.
    • Desirable degree level qualification.
    • Continued professional development is a plus.
    • Skills in Relationship Management, Organization, and Communication.
    • Qualities like Focused Drive, Adaptability, Team Focus, and Customer-Centric mindset.
    • Demonstrated commitment to service excellence, resilience, proactive work approach, and performance orientation.
    • A focus on self-development and accomplishment.

    Skills & Competencies for the role:

    • Experience with Board management.
    • Worked in confidential environments.
    • Familiarity with Governance systems.
    • Experience in housing associations, nonprofits, or public sectors.
    • Understanding of ICT's role in service delivery.
    • Knowledge of governance and regulatory compliance processes is advantageous.
