Description

Duties

  • Shift work, Monday to Friday, for two weeks, followed by for two weeks
  • In this role you'll read and interpret component blueprints on a daily basis, working with geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Setting up and preparing for machining activities
  • You'll set and operate CNC milling machines to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce machine down time.
  • Supporting production engineers, by setting up new tools and creating datum reference points to ensure smooth running of the machine
  • Safety is important, where you'll carefully load and unload raw materials into the CNC machines.
  • Setting gauges and utilising manual measuring instruments appropriately.
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on machines, equipment and tools used in all processes.
  • Isolate and potentially quarantine any piece that may not conform to customer specification and report accordingly.

Experience required

  • Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Engineering background setting and operating CNC machines is a bonus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work autonomously but also as part of a team.
  • Strong communicator and responsive to change

Salary:
£26,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

Education:


  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:


  • CNC Machinist: 3 years (preferred)
