About the Opportunity


At RMS International we are constantly evolving & transforming, and we're now recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Product Technologist to join our team.

The Product Technologist will bring technical and commercial knowledge, experience and expertise of toys, supporting the buying teams and maximise trading opportunities.

Who are we looking for


This role will be responsible for ensuring that toys are consistent for function, quality, safety and certifying they meet the customers' expectations, ensuring that RMS International delivers products that adhere to relevant legislation (as applicable) and company policies and requirements.


You will set and regularly review products in line with technical, legal and safety requirements to ensure the product is fit for purpose and meets applicable UK/EU Legislation, conducting product risk assessments and managing the removal from sale/ recall process when necessary.


Working closely with QC teams (UK & offshore) to set and implement processes to enable the stock to be inspected to the technical standards required, you will support and provide training as necessary for technologists and other functional teams e.g.

Warehousing & Returns, Customer Services Teams and Purchasing.

You'll need the following


The understanding of the product development process within commercial environment to support team members decision making is crucial, along with strong risk management skills.

You should have an expert knowledge of children's product safety requirements enough to understand and interpret relevant legislation.


Your ability to translate complex data into meaningful recommendations and actions, will drive the role, alongside your effective negotiating/influencing skills, to work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

You'll be dealing with a lot of stakeholder including manufacturers and our trading teams/partners, so great communication will be key.

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 dependant on experience
