    The School of History, Religions, and Philosophies (HRP) is the only university department in Europe and North America to deliver Humanities programmes wholly grounded in the histories, philosophies, religious and social practices of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.     About the Role

    The School of History, Religions and Philosophies at SOAS University of London is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Buddhist Studies (Education) at G8 level, with expertise in East Asian Buddhism. This is fixed-term appointment, from 1 September 2024 to 30 June 2025.

    We are looking for a scholar who is able to teach courses on Chinese and Japanese Buddhism and one course on Taoism at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to supervise undergraduate extended essays and postgraduate dissertations on a range of topics in East Asian Buddhism, and to provide support and advice to students. The appointee would be encouraged to participate in activities of the SOAS Centre of Buddhist Studies.
