    Description

    What you'll be doing

    as the Field Scientist
  • Working in the Operations sector of the business (clean water production team) acting as an advisor to a specific production team.
  • Investigate and report on infringements, and feedback on remedial actions and share learnings with the Operations Teams.
  • Provide support to Capex schemes/Projects as required.
  • Develop professional working relationships with Operations, Engineering, and other internal customers.
  • Close liaison with other water quality monitoring teams. (such as catchment, groundwater, regulatory response etc)
  • Identify developments/optimisations that may improve asset performance or the business and suggest initiatives to the team and/or line manager.
  • Providing regular water quality reports and data to operational teams to support decision making and project schemes.
  • What you should bring to the role

  • HNC or Degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific or Engineering discipline.
  • Ideally have experience in water treatment processes, supply or regulation.
  • Problem Solving is a crucial part of this role and any previous experience in this area would be highly beneficial.
  • Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are also key to this role as you will be liaising with internal stakeholders within Thames Water on a day-to-day basis.
  • Travel to other sites is required as a major part of this role thus a driving license is essential.
  • The ability to work in a logical and analytical manner and be able to maintain a positive and professional approach is also essential.
