Senior Buyer - Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Pulsant
Description
The senior buyer will form an integral part of the Finance function, establishing and managing supplier relationships - negotiating existing or future supplier agreements with a view to creating cost efficiencies and quality targets.
This role will require you to:
- Assist Head of Procurement to drive culture change across our Pulsant business.
- Assist the creation of the Pulsant centralised procurement dept.
- Be able to create and implement:
- commercial contracts & centrally manage filing.
- procurement policies, procedures and working tools to create efficiency across our organisation.
- Be able to implement supply chain management in a Category focussed approach.
- Experience of conducting Tender processes on behalf of multiple legal entities.
- Deliver results in key performance areas including cost management, process & procedure improvements, innovation, and alignment with internal stakeholders.
- Support the Risk & assurance team to manage supply chain risk with support of procedures audits & supplier performance score cards.
- Develop expertise within the organisation around specific supply markets, as well as technological and economic changes that impact those markets.
- Liaise cross functionally with a diverse internal community of product/service experts.
- Delivering procurement cost, quality & risk, delivery, flexibility, and strategic vendor relationships.
- Identification of new suppliers, delivering commercial gain, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Procurement categories include, but not restricted to: IT (Hardware/Software/Data Connectivity), Telecoms, Energy, (Gas, electricity & fuel) Facilities Management Services, Marketing, HR Services, MRO, Office services, Hire and leasing, PPE etc.
Skills & Experience
- Membership status of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS level 5 or working towards).
- Strong strategic sourcing and procurement background within sourcing with IT (preferred) or Indirect service categories
- Experienced in change management and successes
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously & to develop priorities
- Experience of working in procurement in an IT, telecomms or Data Centre environment
- Fully competent with commercial contract management, monitoring and reviewing performance, identifying opportunities for greater efficiencies, improved terms and value add activity
- Financially aware, numerate, commercially minded, and able to effectively manage costs.
