    OBM are currently recruiting for a Shipping Controller for our oil and gas service provider client based in Aberdeen for a minimum 12-month contract.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively coordinating the movement of outbound and inbound cargo between the quayside to various offshore locations and onshore vendors.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Knowledge of shipping/manifesting and inbound disciplines and ability to assist with any client queries
    • Assist with training of new starts on Client ERP system as deemed necessary
    • Contribute and assist in investigations related to cargo movements
    • Assist with the creation of procedures and work aids
    • Attend and participate in client meetings where applicable
    • Call off all offshore requirements for collection/delivery for shipment
    • Preparation of loadout lists within QMS system/client ERP System
    • Maintain deck utilisation calculations for all sailings
    • Liaise with transport/vendors regarding cargo collection/deliveries
    • Prepare, update and complete manifests with client and internal manifesting systems
    • Process outbound/Inbound paperwork and update relevant information
    • Maintain operational information records
    • Participate in loadout meetings ensuring all client requirements are fulfilled
    • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with client contacts
    • Respond quickly and accurately to issues/queries from onshore and offshore personnel
    • Liaise with client representatives, focal points and applicable departments to ensure integrity of shipments with specific regard to cargo issues
    • Ensure all discrepancies are recorded, systems are updated accordingly and communicated to all necessary departments, internally and externally
    • Ensure weights are recorded accurately within QMS/ERP System
    • Ensure that workload is planned, organised and prioritised accordingly
    • Control and record all manifesting folders and associated documentation
    • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and suggest improvements/ changes to process to drive efficiencies where required
    • Practice the regulations within IMDG code
    • Ensure that procedures, work instructions and company standards are followed and always maintained
    • Accurately use client systems WELS / SAP / OSS
