    Job Description

    The Nuclear Engineering & Decommissioning Team at AECOM's Warrington office offers comprehensive consultancy services to clients in the nuclear sector, Ministry of Defence, and other confidential security-focused entities. Our expertise extends to new nuclear build projects, decommissioning activities, MoD installations, ITER, and the DIO.

    • Defence sector: Providing diverse new build support services to multiple clients.
    • MoD: Assisting the Nuclear CASD in establishing new facilities across the UK.
    • Defence Infrastructure Organisation
    • Nuclear new build sector: Offering engineering support for the development of the UK's new nuclear power stations.
    • Decommissioning Sector: AECOM supports the complete Nuclear Estate with substantial new construction required for decommissioning purposes.

    One of our confidential projects involved designing and constructing a brand-new facility within a short timeframe, utilizing modular technology for a flexible and rapid solution. This project challenged conventional approaches in the Nuclear Industry, emphasizing offsite build and advanced technology integration.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Working within the Warrington Nuclear Department, you will contribute to project-specific design and engineering tasks, collaborating with engineers and technicians as needed to achieve project goals.
    • Engaging across technical disciplines to provide interfacing and integration support.
    • Supporting Quality Assurance activities related to documentation delivery.
    • Participating in equipment assurance activities like Factory Acceptance Testing and inspections.
    • Coordinating with project supply chain partners to meet project specifications and technical requirements efficiently.
    • Visiting subcontractors' sites to monitor progress and quality compliance.
    • Preferably having experience in Civil and Structural disciplines.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-discipline specific) or relevant engineering experience with appropriate qualifications.
    • Ability to communicate design concepts clearly.
    • Confident in decision-making.
    • Skilled in working within budgets and deadlines.
    • Experience in team leadership.
    • Proficient in English with excellent communication skills for conveying information effectively.
