Senior Metrology Officer to work within
Trading Standards at
Lancashire County Council .


What we are searching for

Advise & Influence - We are seeking a Metrology expert to professionally advise local businesses on compliance with legal obligations required under the
law of weights and measures:

Analytical - As a methodical and analytical thinker you will record and analyse metrics, respect timescales and plan accordingly to gather the data required - you'll understand the importance of accuracy, attention to detail and evaluate data to inform future projects or to produce reports to highlight common themes - you'll be a strong record keeper as you'll know it's a statutory responsibility to collate the data required as this could inform future investigations and decisions - in this varied role you'll be assessing a wide scope of measuring equipment and systems from fuel dispensers, to weighbridges, factories to farms, so we'll need you to consider each competing priority and plan accordingly to achieve the outcomes we are looking for with the support of the technical team - finally, we'll need you to be curious, insightful and innovative, sometimes to generate income streams for the Service.
