    Description

    We are seeking to appoint an Education Welfare Officer to work within Middlesbrough's Access to Education team.

    You will take the lead in ensuring that your allocated schools are fully supported to help improve attendance and ensure that children are at school every day, on time and ready to learn.

    You will work with a range of stakeholders to provide a comprehensive service and seek out new and innovative ways to improve attendance. You will link with schools' existing attendance teams and provide additionally, support and advice.

    This role will involve supporting staff in schools, ensuring all statutory educational requirements are fulfilled and liaising closely with schools and other interested parties. You will need to provide regular, detailed, and accurate reports for senior staff, detailing progress against a range of KPIs and plans for further development and improvement. Ideally you will have experience of working with schools, vulnerable learners and families, but we are happy to offer training to candidates who can demonstrate the right qualities, commitment and enthusiasm.
