    We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Temporary Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team at Delkia.


    Overview of the role


    We are looking for the ideal candidate to have previous finance experience, who is looking to develop their career within a dynamic organisation.

    Working directly for the company's Finance Director, this opportunity will be focusing on operational needs, initially working closely with the project management officer (PMO), project controls (PC) and profit and loss (P&L) accountable leads.

    This role will give the successful candidate full exposure to real-time accounting, director and senior stakeholder exposure, business planning forecasting, providing strong technical accounting skills, business sales and forecasting as well as budget control through variation monitoring and risk analysis. This opportunity will provide a top-to-bottom experience through all tiers of the organisation.

    Key responsibilities:


    • Support the budgeting, planning and reporting work of the Finance department including analysing accounts, calculating savings, producing KPIs and annual expenditure reports.
    • Present, liaise, collaborate, and communicate management and financial reports with budget holders to discuss requirements, options and agree recommendations and implementation plan for projects.
    • Support colleagues, customers and stakeholders to resolve their queries effectively.
    • Work in partnership with other department areas when undertaking duties.
    • Develop and maintain a knowledge of financial working practices and developments within the department.
    • Use of finance IT systems relevant to working area.
    • Financial accounting including bank and control account reconciliations, and VAT returns.
    • Assist with the preparation of statutory returns and regulatory reports.
    • Provide Continual Improvement through process generation and ownership within the finance department.





    Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

    Previous finance experience preferable

    • Strong problem-solving ability and inquisitive nature
    • Able to communicate technical information to stakeholders of varying skill sets
    • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills with outstanding attention to detail
    • Able to analyse large and complex datasets
    • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
    • SQL and BI tools experience is desirable
    • Ability to build strong relationships
