My client is an innovative start-up who aims to introduce an exciting era of protein production.

The client is looking for a full-time, on-site experienced protein engineer who will play an integral role in the development and optimisation of downstream processes for the extraction, refolding, purification and characterisation of proteins. You will also work cross-functionally to advance project goals and support the development of protein expression protocols, SOPs and analystical methods.

Requirements:

• A Ph.D. or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  
• At least 3 years experience in protein engineering.
  
• Experience in protein expression, purification, and characterisation of proteins.
  
• Proficiency in molecular biology and gene editing techniques.
  
• Extensive experience in construct design, recombinant protein expression (e.g., E. coli, yeast, or plant), purification and characterization
  
• Hands on experience in working with AKTA systems, or similar types of equipment, and ability to troubleshoot purification issues
  
• Strong knowledge of chromatography techniques (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion), filtration methods, and protein analytical methods.
  
• Proficiency in protein characterisation techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and mass spectrometry.
  
• Experience in project management, experimental design, and data analysis.
  
• Familiarity with process scale-up and tech transfer from laboratory-scale to commercial production.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical challenges independently.
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
