Water Network TechnicianField-Based - Dorset/Wiltshire/Somerset
Role Type:
Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday plus stand-by rota

As part of our essential front-line operations service, youll be joining a collaborative and dynamic team that is responsible for ensuring that our networks run as calmly and efficiently as possible.
This is a pivotal role where you will help reduce the overall cost of water charges by accounting for all water consumed, as well as reducing water that is bought, but not sold, on site.
This is achieved through using a range of leakage detection methods and to monitor, minimise and record water performance. Accounting for 100% of water supply on to each of our sites and identifying leakage eventsRecording relevant site data and feeding this information back to the demand management team
Installing and maintaining flow and pressure data logging equipment
Fault finding and undertaking basic and minor repairs and installing new assets where required
Escalating areas of risk to the wider business such as water quality issues, supply risks or H&S concerns
Knowledge of water supply configurations and hydraulics by using site plans and schematics
Extensive technical expertise in all methods used to account for consumption and leakage
Knowledge of testing and inspecting fire hydrants and configuring pressure and flow loggers
A good understanding of health and safety within an industrial setting
A commercial awareness to understand the cost impact on the business when making decisions
You will be comfortable working in both confined spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions
Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years
You must have a full, valid driving licence and be comfortable driving a van
