    Job Title: Electrical Switchgear Estimator
    Responsible to: Estimating Director
    Deputy (in the absence of): Managing Director
    1. Responsible for the Estimator:
    Quote Management pre order and for the Estimating component within the company's Quality Management System, including development, compliance and auditing, in accordance with the ISO9001 standard and end to end process.
    Ensuring that technical documents and records are generated for all quotations in accordance with the company's Quality Management System. Ensuring compliance and providing certification to BS EN if applicable).
    Provision of contractual, financial and technical assistance as necessary to the Sales Team/Engineering Team, including Technical Submissions and pricing information for quotation purposes and variations to ongoing Projects.
    2. Occupational Skills we are loking for in an estimator:
    1. A high standard of general education with proven written and verbal communication skills.
    2. Previous Experience of a Switchgear Engineering/Estimating function within a manufacturing or similar environment.
    3. Familiar with electrical infrastructure, electrical principles, electrical drawings and schematics.
    4. Good communication skills.
    5. An understanding of BS EN 61439
    6. Good product knowledge of Switchboards including control circuitry and ancillary items such as Auto Changer Over Systems and Power factor Correction.
    3. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities of the Estimator:
    3a) Estimating
    1. Produce accurate and timely quotations to the client, ensuring all products are within the company's catalogue, to specification and following the BS EN guidelines.
    2. Interpret customer requirements and technical specifications to produce technical documents / records for all quotations that are suitable and sufficient for tender, and in accordance with the company's Quality Management System
    3. Ensure that all products are quoted in accordance with BS EN 61439
    4. Be an integral member of the Estimating team
    5. Be a part of process improvements within the team
    6. Provision of contractual, financial and technical assistance to the Sales /Engineering Teams, including Technical Submissions and pricing information for quotation purposes.
    7. Managing and liaising with customers pre-order, including resolving commercial or technical conflicts.
    8. Responsible for quoting mid range projects to your dedicated customers.
    3b) Housekeeping & Hygiene/ Health & Safety
    1. To ensure that your areas of responsibility are always kept clean and tidy.
    2. To ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in good repair at all times.
    3. To ensure that all the regulations relating to the safe operation and maintenance of equipment are adhered to.
    4. To ensure that the company's Health & Safety policy is applied at all times by yourself and any issues are flagged direct to your manager.
    3d) Other Duties as an estimator:
    1. To maintain daily communication with the various sales, planning and production departments and any other staff who impact on your area of control.
    2. To act appropriately with members of the wider team to support the 'one team' ethos of the business.
    3. To promote the company image as professional and positive both internally and externally at all times.
    4. Vision / Context
    The position exists to ensure that the business meets its Estimating targets whilst operating in a compliant and safe manner.
    The role encompasses (not exclusively) the quoting of the prime company products as designated within the relevant potential projects.
