    Description

    Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are searching for Check in Agents to join a well-respected and successful client in Gatwick airport. You will be serving passengers who are traveling with the following airlines Jet2, Norse Atlantic, Norwegian, Delta and TAP Air Portugal.

    What's on offer:

    • Rate of pay: £13.40 per hour, increasing to £13.74 after 12 weeks
    • Shift Pattern: 4 on 2 off
    • Shift Timing: The shifts will start as early as 03:00am and finish as late as 23:00pm
    • Hours per week: 40 hours per week
    • Shift Timing: Example times below.
    • Overtime: X1.5 Mon-Sat, x2 Sunday, 1.3 Xmas and Bank Holiday
    • Weekly Pay
    • Temp to Perm (performance based)

    Confirmed start dates:

    • 29th April 2024
    • 20th May 2024

    Key Duties:

    • Assisting passengers with checking in their luggage using the self-service machines and processing documentation ahead of their travels.
    • The Airlines that you will be working with will be Jet2, Norse Atlantic, Norwegian, Delta, TAP Air Portugal.
    • The role will require you to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
    • The role covers all front of house, customer service tasks to ensure a smooth and seamless passenger journey through London Gatwick Airport.
    • Greeting passengers on arrival at the airport and answering any queries passengers might have about their journey, assisting with any disruption and resolving issues.
    • Checking passengers' travel documents, such as passports, and boarding passes, to confirm their identity and eligibility for travel.
    • Collect any applicable fees for checked luggage, excess baggage, or other services, and process payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
    • Manage and organise passenger queues to ensure an efficient and orderly check-in process, especially during peak travel times.
    • Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as flight delays, cancellations, or disruptions in a calm and professional manner, providing passengers with updated information and solutions.
    • Processing final boarding checks at the departure gates.
    • Upholding airline standards and company values at all times in your customer service, personal presentation and timekeeping.
    • There will be opportunity to up skill and complete airside boarding training.
    • Full training will be given(10 days classroom-based training).

    Shifts:

    The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 4 on 2 off rolling rota. This could be subject to change

    An example of the shift hours:

    • Day 1: 0300 till 1200
    • Day 2: 0300 till 1300
    • Day 3: 1330 till 2230
    • Day 4: 1430 till 2300
    • OFF
    • OFF

    Requirements:

    • Good attention to detail
    • Good verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team
    • Right to Work in the UK
    • Five year fully checkable reference history
    • Ability to pass Criminal Record Check (CRC)
