    Basic Function

    Preparation and management of UK corporation tax filings (computations, returns, payments, group matters) for all UK legal entities in full compliance with applicable laws.

    Primary contact with HMRC in agreeing UK corporation tax matters. Preparation and management of US GAAP and statutory IFRS tax accounting and reporting for all UK legal entities.

    Support the Manager, UK Tax on the provision of UK direct tax advisory support to each of the UK businesses and on UK general corporate matters (including UK employment taxes and transfer pricing compliance).

    Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    • Prepare and file all relevant UK corporation tax returns and claims for all UK legal entities.
    • Negotiate and agree such returns and claims with HMRC, dealing with HMRC audit queries.
    • Handle all UK corporation tax assessments and UK group matters (e.g. payments and group relief), including international tax requirements relating to the UK such as withholding tax form requests.
    • Prepare and report all necessary annual US GAAP current and deferred tax income statement and balance sheet movements for all UK legal entities, effective tax rate reconciliations and balance sheet templates, and monthly account reconciliations for all UK tax accounts.
    • Prepare and report statutory IFRS current and deferred tax disclosures and supporting workings for UK legal entities.
    • Ensure "no surprises" on UK tax accounting/reporting and ongoing accuracy of tax accounts to filing positions and contingencies.
    • Ensure application of financial controls in relation to UK corporation tax in adherence with corporate policies, processes and procedures (including SOX compliance).
    • Be the primary internal and external contact on all UK tax compliance and accounting matters, liaising with Group Auditors and managing the audit process for group and statutory reporting.
    • Liaise with and support external advisors on R&D tax relief claims.
    • Provide tax advisory support to Manager UK Tax, including preparation for UK and international tax legislative changes such as BEPS Pillar Two.
    • Manage UK employment tax and transfer pricing compliance obligations.
    • Support in the preparation and update of tax governance and risk documents (such as Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence).
    Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria

    • Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions, or meet the criteria for employer sponsorship.
    • Recognized professional accounting and/or tax qualification.
    • Proficiency in UK corporation tax compliance and financial accounting/statutory reporting
    • Numeracy and attention to detail.
    • Selfmotivated and proactive, and trusted to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to meet and manage work around strict deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate complex issues at all levels in plain language.
    • Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills
    • Good working knowledge of SAP S4.
    Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe.

    In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers.

    The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points.

    In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.

    Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG.

    JET supplies some of the UK's growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations.

    Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
