    What you need to know

    As an Assistant Syndicate Accountant, you will be supporting the wider Syndicate Finance team with all aspects of Group and regulatory reporting, including both preparation and analysis work and to contribute to the continuing improvement of the Syndicate processes.

    Some of the key responsibilities include:

    • Assisting in the preparation of the quarterly results submissions to AIG Group team
    • Assisting with close of the quarterly general ledger and analysis of premium and reinsurance premium quarter on quarter and year on year analysis
    • Ensuring relevant SOX controls are performed and evidenced
    • Preparation of Gross Quarterly Data (GQD) return
    • Preparation of additional regulatory returns, including but not limited to the quarterly SLTF and CLTF and Schedule F&P annually
    • Preparation of other international regulatory reporting returns
    • Assistance with the preparation of QMA forms and annual report and accounts
    • Processing GAAP journals
    • Monthly ledger close processes and reporting
    • Assisting in work to ensure the ledger at a class of business and underwriting year level is correct
    • Assisting in the production of the ultimate and earned gross and reinsurance premium on a quarterly basis for Group and regulatory reporting
    • Quarterly review and analysis of signed v EPI data and liaising with underwriters to investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified

    What we're looking for:

    • Numerical degree
    • Part qualified or willing to start an accountancy qualification
    • 1-3 years relevant experience
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Lloyd's of London knowledge and / or experience useful
