Are you an experienced Planning Officer with experience across refurbishment and Social Housing schemes?


I am currently recruiting for a Principal Planning Officer to work on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Doncaster.

This role will be on a hybrid working basis.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • To assist in the delivery of Planning Services by providing clear, effective advice on Development Management and Planning Policy to achieve borough, corporate and service priorities.
  • To develop and implement statutory and nonstatutory policy and strategy, including all aspects of statutory planning policy including the preparation of evidence documents, data analysis and research and the preparation/review of development plans includingNeighbourhood Plans
  • Prepare and advise on CIL/s106 matters including policy and implementation.
  • To be the expert witness in connection with planning/enforcement appeals and/or examinations in public.
  • To support and advise on the planning enforcement process.
  • To support and represent the Planning Services Management Team as required.

Specialist Skills and Knowledge:


  • Planning qualification to degree level (or equivalent) and full membership of the RTPI (or clear evidence of working towards full membership) and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Ability to clearly write and present reports and evidence on complex planning matters.
  • Experience of some level of supervision/management.
