    Lougher Contemporary are seeking a new Finance Manager

    Term: 6-month contract, with potential for extension

    Fee: In the region of £30,000pa pro rata dependent on experience

    Hours: Part-time role, c hours per week

    This is a rare opportunity to work in a highly dynamic industry for a quickly growing international brand in the art market. We're a young, professional, tight-knit team.

    You will be the first hire into a newly formed internal finance function and will benefit from a handover from our existing outsourced bookkeeper.

    We're looking for an ambitious individual with an appetite for learning and continual improvement. You will be motivated by the opportunity to add significant value, challenge our current way of doing things and realise efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years' experience in Accounts Payable and Management Accounting/Finance Business Partnering. You won't be afraid to get stuck into the detail and will have the ability to look at the macro and micro pictures simultaneously.

    Job responsibilities include:

    • Sales ledger and purchase ledger management​
    • Processing monthly bank reconciliations​
    • Payroll and PAYE returns and reconciliations
    • Credit control​ and payment runs
    • Purchase invoice and expense retrieval and management
    • Stockbook management and reconciliation
    • Financial reporting and analysis​, and monthly management accounts
    • Additional ad-hoc work to help with the growth and improvement of the company

    Essential

    • Minimum AAT Level 4
    • Experience with accounts payable / purchase ledger
    • Demonstrable Intermediate Excel knowledge
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Strong computer and numerical literacy
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ambition and innovativeness to automate and refine processes to improve efficiency
    • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation
    • Desire and capability to work independently, adapt to change and organise workload to fit company needs

    Desirable

    • Minimum 3 years' experience using Xero
    • Experience using PowerBI or an appetite to learn
    • Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint
    • Experience preparing VAT returns, and knowledge of the VAT margin scheme for works of art
    • Experience working in small owner-managed businesses
    • Payroll and PAYE experience
    • Ability to prepare accurate management accounts
    • Understanding of stock ledgers and management
    • Interest in the contemporary art market
