About FT Studio

FT Studio is a collective of producers, designers, UX, developers, animators and writers passionate about crafting stories with insight and energy.

It produces a range of editorially driven and visually impactful client branded content, from animations to immersive and interactive digital websites, mini-documentaries, podcasts and journalistic articles.


Maintaining the FT tone of voice and benefiting from newsroom audience engagement data, FT Studio produces content that sits naturally within the newspaper's editorial environment.


The role

FT Studios is looking for a detail-oriented Webpage Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure the highest quality in our webpage builds before they go live.


This position is a 6-month FTC, with the term beginning from your start date.


Key duties

  • Conduct thorough QA tests on all website builds, identifying issues related to design, content, and functionality.
  • Ensure webpages are optimised for performance and are compatible across a range of browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
  • Work closely with the production, development and design teams to report and troubleshoot issues.
  • Validate that all elements on the webpage meet accessibility and SEO guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of QA processes and issues identified, including steps to reproduce and the status of fixes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing QA testing processes and best practices to enhance the quality of web builds.
  • Stay uptodate with the latest web technologies and QA tools (BrowserStack, iOS Simulator, Chrome DevTools) and techniques.

What we are looking for
The necessary skills and expertise for this role are:

  • Proven experience in website quality assurance or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with web development processes and the ability to work closely with developers and designers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of web standards, accessibility guidelines (WCAG and APCA), and SEO principles.
  • A good understanding of Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with responsive and crossbrowser testing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
