    Job Title: Teaching Assistant with Challenging Behavior Experience

    Location: Caerphilly, UK

    Overview:
    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a proven track record in managing challenging behavior to join our team in Local primary schools. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working with students exhibiting challenging behavior, along with a passion for supporting children's educational and emotional development.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
    • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with challenging behavior, implementing strategies to manage and de-escalate difficult situations.
    • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with behavioral needs, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as necessary.
    • Collaborate with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop and implement behavior management strategies and interventions.
    • Encourage and promote positive behavior through praise, encouragement, and rewards, reinforcing desired behaviors.
    • Act as a role model for students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and respect in all interactions.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior incidents, and interventions, in accordance with school policies.
    • Support students during transitions between activities or locations, ensuring a smooth and safe transition.
    • Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required to further develop skills and knowledge in behavior management and special education.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of one year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary school setting.
    • Proven experience in managing challenging behavior, with a sound understanding of behavior management strategies and techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
    • Patient, resilient, and adaptable, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
    • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and emotional well-being, with a commitment to inclusive education.
    • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
    • Willingness to undergo relevant background checks, including an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
